The City of Memphis and the Tennessee Department of Transportation needed to design a more attractive and useful way for Pedestrians to cross the over 100-year-old Harahan Bridge over Mississippi River between Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas. The product chosen to use was Press Lock Grating from Ohio Gratings of Canton, Ohio. The O.T.

Marshall Architectural Firm selected the product. This Press Lock product is not just a grating product but has laser cut designs, to give more of a Architectural Appearance. The Owner chose the local galvanizer to support the effort of the new facility coming to town, which helped with the decision to have this be a 100% hot dip galvanized effort in support the new hot-dip neighbor.

This walkway of 4,973 feet long over 108 above the River was finished in November 2015. The Galvanizing and Press Lock manufacturing was ahead of schedule, as the balance of the Engineering and rehabilitation needs to be finish by the Grand Opening of the new walkway and rail bridge by May 2016.
