These signs are normally finished with an epoxy primer followed by an aliphatic urethane finish (top-coat). However, for particularly harsh environments, such as marine coasts in the Netherlands, SolarTech provides a Duplex Coating consisting of hot-dipped galvanizing followed by an epoxy primer and an aliphatic urethane topcoat in any color the client requests. The results are a finish that lasts much longer and does not rust when scratched, chipped or dinged from wear and tear.
The signs with the Duplex system do not need to be repainted nearly as often, thereby reducing the impact on the environment and extending the service life of the equipment.
