Ridge Avenue World War One Memorial Bridge

This project was publically funded and a controversial expense for the County. The DOT agreed to the Bridge, however the County wanted it to be a Memorial, to replace the World War I "Artillery Bridge" that had been close and removed years earlier. County funds had to be raised which led to specification differences.

The State wanted the standard paint systems, however the County had Galvanizing experience. They negotiated for the galvanized with a Duplex system to match the color scheme of the Dayon Area that ODOT has in place. Economics had to show that they were not asking for more money and in fact could get a better system, for less money, in a timely manner.

The Galvanizer was asked for their help in getting the County what they wanted without sacrificing State funding.With the help of many samples, warranties, and many examples throughout the State and Country this got the Duplex system specified. This was built to honor the memory of those from the area that lost their lives in World War One.
