The Challenge, The Solution, The Results
When constructing this precast concrete garage at the entrance of the seven story office building, the designers wanted to emphasize the adjacent courtyard and hide the cars from view. The solution the architect designed was perforated steel façade plates to screen in the car and provide an interesting back drop for the courtyard. Additionally, the canopy sheltering pedestrians at a shuttle stop was galvanized to provide more aesthetic appeal without sacrificing functionality.
Because of its proximity to Atlantic Ocean air and the volume of visitors, maintenance-free longevity was important, and hot-dip galvanized steel met the challenge. Quincy Parking Garage
