All of the connecting plates and angles were galvanized. The rest of bridge was blasted and painted, as the structure was too large to galvanize. The project is located over the Merrimack River and was a fast track turnaround.
We needed to galvanize and have it mass highway inspected all within 24 hours. Tours go under the bridge as it also passes over a canal, so it needed to have a nice visual appearance.
