Components

The structural steel supporting the screen wall on both the chiller building and parking garages. The structural steel for the main structure of the chiller building.

During a visit with the Marnell Las Vegas office, the design team was exploring options for both the screen wall design and the HVAC chiller unit structure, attached to the Casino. They were concerned about the likelihood of corrosion of the exposed structural steel, especially in a harsh Midwest climate. They wanted a product that would last for a lifetime, and require no maintenance.

They made it clear that downtime for maintenance, including having to repaint or touch up structural steel is not tolerated in the Casino industry. In the high revenue nature of the Casino business, interruptions can end up costing its owner hundreds of thousands of dollars. Catering to their guests is the top priority.

One uCity Square

This custom steel sculpture was engineered specifically for hot-dip galvanizing with careful consideration of kettle dimensions, drainage placement, and warping prevention, then finished with a striking 2-part epoxy coating in blue and brown. The project transformed rigid steel into fluid movement while achieving lasting durability through galvanized corrosion protection and vibrant color finishes.

Harahan Bridge Boardwalk
