The 55-million-dollar multi-phase upgrade to their football stadium which started with Phase One in 2022. Oklahoma State indicated the Boone Pickens renovation was about enhancing the fan experience. The goal of the Athletics Vision Plan is to strengthen its position within the national landscape of college athletics by creating a framework for the near and long-term development of the Athletics Village at Oklahoma State University. The changes implemented were for the fan experience, creating a more comfortable environment and modernizing the football stadium.

Oklahoma State partnered with Flintco located in Tulsa Oklahoma, Populous Design & Architecture Firm located in Kansas City, MO and Dant Clayton Corp located in Louisville, KY for the 55-million-dollar multi-phase upgrade. Flintco offers a full range of construction services including preconstruction services, management, design-build and project program management. Populous is a global design and architecture firm with 40 years of innovative experience focusing on design, branded environments with the the ability to amplify the emotional connections between people and place.

The galvanizer worked very closely with the Dant Clayton, fabricator of the railing for this project which consisted of 1800 lineal feet / 80,000 lbs. of galvanized material for the upgrade. Quality was a major concern for Phase Two as was safety with the additional handrail. Dant Clayton met the galvanizer at the plant on multiple occasions to discuss what was expected and the galvanizer delivered, the results were received very well by Oklahoma State University, Delivery schedules were met on a timely manner, and on a few occasions a 48-hour turn was needed and met as the galvanizer kept Dant Clayton on schedule. The galvanizer also provided additional value-added service to make the project flow smoothly, applying cloth electrical tape on 2,953 male threads and then brush cleaning the threads after galvanizing. The galvanized project will stand the test of time, coating durability, corrosion performance, sustainability for many years to come.
