Gateway Paper Machine

A Georgia-based paper products company completed a $1 billion, 640,000 sq ft state-of-the-art coated recycled paperboard machine on a 119-acre site in Waco, Texas. Paper machines are galvanized due to the papermaking process being highly corrosive to steel. The project involved hot-dip galvanizing structural steel over a 7-month period. Daily calls with the fabricator coordinated scheduling and sequencing. Storage of up to 60 loads at a time was required throughout the project. The galvanizing team sorted and verified all incoming and outbound shipments with minimal turn times due to the accelerated construction schedule.
