LG Energy Solution and Honda Motor Company agreed to a joint venture to produce lithium-ion batteries in Jeffersonville, Ohio which is located 40 miles southwest of Columbus, Ohio. The two companies overall invested 4.4 billion in the joint venture for the new EV hub, creating over 2,200 jobs. The value systems of both companies are very similar, they respect people, they are about fairness, their cultural value they share will be the foundation of success moving forward.The pouch type lithium-ion batteries will be mass produced in Jeffersonville, Ohio and supplied to Honda auto plants to produce EV’s sold in North America.

The EV Battery Plant spans over 2 million square feet or in layman’s terms: 78 football fields. Massive commitment for Turner Construction, fabricator Mound Technologies and the galvanizer to meet on-time deliveries daily, weekly and monthly. Galvanizing over 1000 tons in a 6-month period was a huge commitment and took constant communication with both Mound Technologies and the galvanizer. Trucks in and out daily with 24 – 48-hour turnaround times. As the Operation Manager & Plant Manager for the galvanizer always mention: “We never say no, just get us the steel brother”. Great teamwork and partnerships to make it happen!!
